Life With Boogz

Welcome to my website, my name is Lauren Dowell, I have a deep passion for cooking. Even more so, being a grateful mother and wife. This Blog will document bits and pieces of my everyday life. Posts and dialogue can range from cooking tutorials, working from home, organizational tips with toddlers, to hair care with biracial children.

My hopes and goals are to simplify all the parts above. To encourage leading with love and patience. Mixing in some humor and adorable chaos.  Staying present in the moment and finding nuggets of joy and peace along the way. Perspective is huge and I find myself happier and in a more calm space when I am surrounded and influenced by positivity and community. This is what I hope to bring into your life through this blog. I deeply hope you enjoy this journey with me.

Elvira Lotus Photography

Photography is a love I picked up early in my high school years. Capturing an image and memory that can last a lifetime holds such power and reverence. Becoming a mother has truly shown me the deep appreciation for photography. Having the ability to look back at my greatest gifts in life is immeasurable. To provide this to others is nothing short of humbling. Photos by Lauren Dowell

Lotus Flour: Cooking With Boogz

When it comes to cooking there are factors that can not only improve your skill on the kitchen but help you nurture your love for cooking as well. Allow me to help guide you in seasoning your food as you go, cleaning up as you go, and multi-tasking as you go all while provided great recipes that are kid approved. All these components not only speed up the process, because let’s be honest, we don’t have all day to cook one meal, but also make the experience more enjoyable and passionate.

The art of cooking is among the most intimate things that we can do for one another.

A Mother of Bi-Racial Daughters

As a mother of mixed daughters, I had quite the learning curve to overcome with my girls. There is a great responsibility and honor to learn how to not only wash, but style and moisturize their hair, care for their skin, and immerse yourself into the culture. I adore my girls and have loved the entire learning journey. I have watched endless hours of Youtube videos, articles, and blogs, and tutorials. I love sharing what I know and everything I have learned. This is from the perspective of a mother who did not grow up learning to braid hair as a young teen, or having family growing up to influence and guide me along the way. I had to create my own path.
